the outdoor recreation and marine markets.

such as GeographX, TerraLink, the Coastguard & the Navy in New
Zealand, Ordnance Survey and Geographers' A-Z in the UK, and Maptech
in the US, Memory-Map produce digital 'raster' based mapping solutions
that display accurate and detailed real colour images of original
paper-based maps or charts for use on PC, Pocket PC and Handheld PC
systems. Memory-Map's unique QuickChart algorithm means these images
can be displayed and manipulated with ease even on Pocket PCs.
The Memory-Map Navigator software includes
navigation, printing and planning tools which when combined with the
fully geo-referenced Memory-Map Cartography and a GPS unit, provides a
complete state-of-the-art solution that is fast, efficient and easy to
use!
Privately
owned and established in July 2000 by Richard Stephens, Memory-Map has
offices in New Zealand, the UK and in the
US. Products can be purchased
globally both direct and through selected regional retailers and
distributors.
You may be wondering (like most of the
competition!) how we achieved the fast scrolling and zooming in
Memory-Map Navigator. Richard is a software developer with 15 year's
experience in scientific super-computing and high-performance
real-time systems such as medical imaging machines and high-end radar
systems. Think of a giant radar, generating hundreds of megabytes of
data per second. All this data is processed and presented to the
operator in a few milliseconds. This background gives a programmer a
different mind-set from a typical windows or database programmer!
